Health & Safety Equipment

The use of welding equipment requires specialist knowledge and expertise. Reference should be made to the Code of Practice for Mechanical Workshops which can be obtained from workshop supervisors or from the Safety Services Web pages. Nobody must attempt to use welding equipment without appropriate training and permission from the appropriate workshop supervisor. Our range of health and safety equipment includes:

  • Fume extraction hire and sales
  • Eye protection
  • Helmet
  • Visors
  • Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Proban Overalls

Welding and allied processes produce airborne particles and gaseous by-products that can be harmful to our health. Welding processes, consumables and parameters also give rise to various fume emission rates, which in turn lead to different welder exposures. Emission rate cannot be used directly to assess exposure. However, processes, consumables and welding parameters that give lower emission rates generally result in lower welder exposures than processes with higher emission rates used in the same working situation

We offer a full-range of safety equipment which, when combined with our expert knowledge of risk reduction and management strategies, ensures that the safety of your workfroce and processes is maintained to the highest standard.

We stock a wide range of equipment such as a varitey of welding gloves, Curtain Strips (CE Approved to EN1598) and a comprehensive range of Eyetech Helmets (CE Approved to EN166/379).
